Raising the Bar: New Referee Standards at the FIFG Euro Championship

The FIFG Euro Championship in Belek isn’t just a showcase of FootGolf’s finest players—it’s a landmark moment for the sport’s professionalism. For the first time, FIFG has introduced a comprehensive referee training program, setting a global standard for officiating. This initiative ensures fairness, consistency, and excellence in every match, while laying the groundwork for FootGolf’s future.

As the sport gains worldwide attention, the demand for skilled and professional officials has never been greater. Referees play a critical role in upholding the integrity of the game, and FIFG has responded with a transformative training program. Combining theoretical learning, practical on-course sessions, and self-learning assignments, this initiative creates a confident and knowledgeable referee team prepared for any scenario.

“Referees are ambassadors of fair play,” says FIFG President Aleksander Kravanja. “These enhanced standards build trust in the game and lay the foundation for FootGolf’s growth.”

This effort extends beyond the Euro Championship. In early 2025, FIFG will expand the training program globally, giving all member countries the opportunity to build an educated referee base. This network will not only ensure high-quality officiating but will also help educate players, strengthening the sport at every level.

With these standards in place, FIFG is investing in the integrity, professionalism, and future of FootGolf worldwide.
